The ideal candidate will have the skills and drive to form relationships and coalitions that help drive transformational systems change. These positions are also an opportunity to work with an amazing, diverse, and committed team of people from every continent who make up Health Care Without Harm's Global Network.
We are searching for dynamic candidates with a diversity experience from either the health sector, or from the climate/environment sector, or ideally, both. We are looking for committed, articulate individuals with strong international backgrounds who have worked across cultures and continents, who can manage large and growing programs, and who can engage at a high level with governments, UN agencies, health leaders and civil society organizations. The job can be located anywhere, although the ideal candidate would be situated within close reach of time zones in the Americas, Europe and Africa.
The two positions are as follows:
International Climate director
The International Climate Director is responsible for leading and overseeing Health Care Without Harm's global climate program, implementing the organization’s climate strategy, and taking the program to the next level at a crucial time when all sectors of society must step up to take on the climate crisis.
They will form part of an International Directors team across Health Care Without Harm program areas, provide facilitative leadership and work collaboratively with a growing team of five global climate staff, alongside climate staff and leaders from Health Care Without Harm offices and partners around the world.
International Sustainability Director
The International Sustainability Director will lead and oversee the strategic development of an integrated global program focussed on sustainable procurement and circularity that will drive market transformation to decarbonize and detoxify the global health care supply chain.
They will form part of an International Directors team across Health Care Without Harm program areas and as such work in close collaboration with the leadership of the global climate program, our Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Network, and committed teams of people based in Health Care Without Harm offices and partners around the world.
As part of the job, the Sustainability Director will provide strategic and facilitative leadership on all programmatic aspects related to environmentally sustainable health care, such as plastics, toxic chemicals, food systems and our growing program on sustainable health care waste management in low and middle income countries.
