For the ninth consecutive year, we have the privilege of recognizing outstanding health care institutions from around the world that are fully committed to adopting low-carbon health care practices, strengthening climate resilience strategies, and advocating for policies that prioritize the health of our planet.
These hospitals and health systems are at the forefront of driving innovative and impactful solutions to reduce health care's environmental footprint while enhancing their resilience. They are shining examples, leading the global health care sector toward a sustainable, climate-smart future
"Year on year we are thrilled to see the growth of institutions not just those joining the Climate Challenge but also their success tackling climate change. While the climate crisis becomes more dire each year, health care is stepping up with increased ambition and action to meet it head-on. We are delighted to celebrate and showcase a diverse and international cohort of those institutions doing just that with our 2024 award winners that include over 200 institutions from 20 countries! They are shining examples of what health care institutions can and need to be doing to be climate-smart." explains Nick Thorp, Network Director for Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH).
